Prior to traveling, make sure data roaming is enabled for your mobile line by calling DOCOMO PACIFIC or visiting a store location to check.

What is Data To Go?
With Data To Go you can access your local data bucket while traveling abroad in select countries for only $10 per day. You can use your local data plan while abroad to email, post on social media, find your way in unfamiliar places, convert currency, translate languages and more.
Data To Go is available when travelling in:
Australia
Canada
China
Hong Kong
Japan
New Zealand
Philippines
Singapore
South Korea
Taiwan
Thailand
United Kingdom
USA
All other countries not listed here are not covered by a daily rate and roaming in these locations will be charged per mb. Please refer to our roaming map for the pay-as-you-go rate per mb.
Don’t worry, charges won’t be incurred until you use data services while abroad. If you travel to a Data To Go country, the $10 daily rate provides cost certainty and full access to your usual data services.
Example: $10 per day x 5 days = $50
This will be billed each day (12:00AM – 11:59PM ChST) once usage commences abroad. Voice and SMS usage while roaming will also incur additional charges.
Traveling to a Non-Data To Go Country?
Standard Pay-As-You-Go rates apply when traveling in countries not covered by Data To Go. Charges per mb will incur on local roaming rates, which can vary by destination and may incur quickly with use. Even minimal usage such as checking email, sharing files, or using maps can result in significant, unplanned expenses to your account.
Example 1: 200mb used at $15 per mb = $3,000
Example 2: 100mb used per day at $15 per mb x 5 days = $7,500
Voice and SMS usage while roaming will also incur additional charges.

Voice and SMS while Roaming
Note that when using Data To Go, voice and SMS while roaming will incur additional charges. Standard international charges will apply; this also includes when accessing voicemail. Please refer to our roaming map for rates. Incoming SMS is free.
Ways to avoid additional charges while roaming:
Divert calls to another local number while travelling. This could be a landline or a phone number of a trusted family member or friend.
Disable voicemail until you return.
Data Roaming Tips
When you arrive
To use cellular data, turn on Cellular Data Roaming in your device’s settings menu. Ensure Data Roaming is enabled.
iOS Devices
Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Data Roaming > Select ON
Android Devices
Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Data Roaming > Select ON

Once successfully connected, you will receive the following SMS prompt:

How to help manage costs & data use
Charges are incurred per day (12:00AM-11:59PM ChST). If you are approaching a new day and no longer want data access, turn off data roaming to avoid being charged an additional $10 per day.
Save data by connecting to Wi-Fi, especially if you download, or send and receive large files.

Manage your apps
Some apps consume more data than others. Knowing this in advance of your travels can help you avoid unexpected charges. Consider monitoring usage of:
Apps that use location like navigation, news, and weather
Social Media
Video Chatting
Games with heavy graphics that require an internet connection
Disable any apps running in the background that you're not using
Avoid streaming
Streaming content is extremely data intensive
Disable smartphone features
Switch your phone's email settings from “Push” to “Fetch”. This allows you to manually download your email when connected to Wi-Fi.
Turn off Wi-Fi assist (iOS) or Intelligent Wi-Fi (Androids) on your smartphone device.
Use Wi-Fi connections when available
Wi-Fi usage does not count toward your data allowance
Data usage with iMessage
iMessage (and other calling messaging apps) are treated as data rather than as a text message
